Frequently asked questions
Can I take my dog with me?
Yes. Dogs, on a leash at all times, are accepted. A compostable bag will be given to you at the reception desk to collect your animal’s feces. You then may deposit the bag in a compost bin provided for this purpose.
Can we reserve a campsite?
Yes and no. Reservation is only required for groups of 10 or more, by phone from 8 a.m. on Monday morning of the same week (maximum 5 days in advance). It must be for a minimum of 2 nights.
For solo campers, couples, families or groups of 9 or less there is no need for reservation. First come, first served.
Can I camp at the Forêt Ô Cascades in a mini-van, trailer or other motorized vehicle?
No. Only tents are allowed.
Is it possible to stay for just one night, Friday or Saturday?
Yes. It is possible for all solo campers or groups of less than 10.
Only groups of 10 or more must book for a minimum of two nights.
When can I arrive?
The campsite is accessible from 1 p.m. on the day of your arrival. You may access a site from 8 a.m., if it is available.
Do we have access to the river?
Yes. The river is accessible through several trails. It runs a few meters from the grounds. However, swimming is unsupervised, and will always be at your own risk.
Is it allowed to light fires?
Yes and no. Campfires or cooking fires are only allowed in areas set up for this purpose (for campers only) and must be extinguished before bedtime. At all times, fires must be kept under the supervision of a responsible person. During very dry weather, fires may be prohibited on the recommendation of SOPFEU.
Can I bring my own firewood?
Absolutely not. Transportation of firewood from one region to another, from one type of environment to another, is an important vector of diseases that affect all forests.
