Immerse yourself in the heart of summer by floating down the clear, tranquil waters of the Ouareau River! In a setting that is both wild and peaceful, let the current carry you as you take in the stunning natural beauty around you.

 

Two Routes Available

Route 1

  • Length: 400 meters

  • Duration: ~10 minutes

 

Route 2

  • Length: 2 km

  • Duration: ~45 minutes

 

Horaire 

  • June 21 to September 7, 2025
  • Operates daily, weather permitting and when the Ouareau River flow is safe.
  • First departure: 9:00 AM
  • Last departure: 5:00 PM
 

Informations

  • No shuttle service available – You must walk between the gatehouse and the starting point of the river descent.
  • Plan for approximately 30 minutes of hiking through forested trails to cover the 2 km distance from the parking area to the starting point of the long route.
  • At the end of your river descent, you must return your tube to the gatehouse (~5 minutes walk).
  • River levels vary depending on the upstream dam and rainfall, meaning your experience may differ from day to day.
  • Upon arrival, you must review all regulations and sign a risk acceptance form.

Suggested Items to Bring

Water shoes or closed-toe sports shoes that can get wet – this will help prevent injuries and make walking on the rocky riverbed more comfortable.

✔️ Biodegradable sunscreen and insect repellent – environmentally friendly and safe for waterways.

✔️ Dry bag – to keep your personal belongings dry.

✔️ Garbage bags – to responsibly manage your waste and leave no trace.

✔️ Reusable water bottle – stay hydrated throughout your adventure.

✔️ Change of clothes – keep dry in your car so you can stay comfortable if the weather changes quickly.

Rules & Safety Guidelines

  • No supervision is provided along the river route, so please be cautious and follow the rules. You are responsible for your own safety and that of your companions.
  • Stay alert at all times, as the river can be unpredictable. The activity will only be allowed when the waters are calm and the flow is safe. However, be aware that water levels and flow can fluctuate due to rainfall, with depths varying between 1 and 12 feet. Each descent may be different.
  • Wearing a properly fitted and secured life jacket is mandatory at all times.
  • All minors must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
  • Minimum age: 2 years old.
  • You must exit the river at the beach (red flag) to stay within the safe zone. There are waterfalls with steep drops and strong currents 800 meters downstream.
  • Sliding with a tube on the shore is prohibited.
  • Access is prohibited to the shores of private lands (all properties on the right side of the river during the descent).
  • Respect the peace and quiet of nearby residents and other participants during the descent; please avoid loud shouting. The riverbed creates resonance that amplifies all sounds.
  • Music is not allowed during the descent.
  • Floating islands are not permitted.
  • A $50 fee may be charged for failure to follow these guidelines.
 
  • Access to the islands is prohibited; these are protected areas. Please check with the staff to find out where stops are allowed.
  • Feeding wildlife is prohibited.
  • No motorized boats are allowed on the river or any water bodies.
  • To protect the shores, please use only designated access points.
 

The consumption of alcohol and drugs is strictly prohibited during the activity to ensure everyone maintains maximum vigilance.

  • No littering in the river or on the shores.
  • You are required to take your waste with you and dispose of it properly in the designated recycling and trash bins at the end of the activity. Please bring bags to help carry your waste.
  • A $50 fee may be charged for failure to follow these guidelines.

Campfires are prohibited on the shores and at any designated stopping areas.
