What is sustainable development?
“A development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.”
Our long-term vision is to share nature by providing access to this natural space for citizens, vacationers, and tourists. We aim to find a healthy balance between development, sustainability, and profitability, with a systemic vision where we think globally while acting locally.
As advocates of responsible tourism, we believe in the accessibility of nature as a means of protecting it. As António Guterres, Secretary-General of the UN, stated, we believe that “Tourism can be a force for good in our world, playing a protective role for our planet and its biodiversity, and celebrating what makes us human.”
Our Eco-Responsible Commitments
We act with the goal of leaving future generations a healthier forest and a better understanding of ecological challenges.
Forêt Ô Cascades aims to be a unifying project, respectful of the environment, that meets current needs without compromising the future of generations to come.
We have implemented a sustainable development policy to balance, in a coherent and viable long-term way, the three fundamental aspects of human activity: environmental, social, and economic.
Your Turn!
We are doing our part to be eco-responsible, but the protection of our environment also relies on the commitment of our visitors. Together, we can preserve the beauty and richness of our nature.
We’ve prepared this guide to provide simple yet effective tips and actions to make your stay more environmentally friendly.
And once you arrive, think local! Take the opportunity to explore local businesses and restaurants. Every local purchase supports our community and reduces the ecological footprint.
Thank you for your commitment and respect for nature!
carbone credits
Have you considered purchasing carbon credits to offset your CO2 emissions during your trip to Forêt Ô Cascades?
We recommend Carbone Boréal, a greenhouse gas (GHG) offset program through tree planting, in collaboration with the UQAC research infrastructure. This initiative helps mitigate your environmental impact and supports sustainable projects.
